A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain. For instance, a message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox without any effort if you’ve got a website hosting account with our company. The Email Manager in our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel is full-featured, yet very easy to use, and it will permit you to enable different options, including the catch-all one, with only a few mouse clicks. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed alphabetically in this section and on the right side of each of them you’ll see a small "Catch-all" icon. Clicking on it once will enable this feature, clicking it again will deactivate it. Since you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already got another one with this option enabled or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.
