A Control Panel is a web-based interface through which you can handle numerous aspects of your online presence. As an illustration, you may set up or change website files, set up and check emails, manage databases, check visitor stats and so on. These things are carried out via buttons and menus inside a web browser and the CP can also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the admin area associated with your web hosting account. Most of the Control Panels these days will permit you to handle all hosting-related matters, but you'll often require a different system to control payments or to get a new domain if the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they employ, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to troubleshoot and fix a problem also, or you may need to employ a third system.
